To make a good narrative story:
- have a plethora of "he said, she said" words.
- give your characters a personality that shows through the writing.
-  you have to paint a picture of the situation and all the characters perspectives.
- know how to properly use punctuation.
- don't switch up your tenses.
- sometimes it makes things easier to base a story of something that actually happened.
-  a good friend once said "and of course xylophone" :)

3 min story review

while reading the story, The Young And The Old i could really visualize everything that was going on in this mans life you could feel what he was feeling and see what he was saying. i think that it was an excellent way to get the readers to connect easily to the story

showing not telling...

while walking to school, head down, listening to  music I try not to think about how my day is going to go   its the same everyday. I have a routine, once i get past the old lady's purple house I take my headphones out and hide my i pod preparing myself for the moment I step onto school grounds. I quickly try to stuff my lunch into my jacket and clutch it tightly. Karl is standing by the flag pole as always, waiting for me with that grin that is burned into my eyes when I close them. As I get onto the schools sidewalk I count the steps as I get to Karl, there is exactly 12 everytime. At the last second I look up and feel a burst of pain in my chest, he punched me I feel the air shove out of my lungs as I am gasping for air. I instantly let go of my lunch knowing that thats what he's going for. once I finally get my breath back he pushes me back into the flag pole and yells "hope your mom packed me a good lunch today!" I instantly think to myself thank god he didn't go through my back pack. I grab out my i pod again and begin to plug into my own world, nobody wants to be friends with the kid who gets bullied everyday.
